Interior Upgrades Scheduled for Axe Library
A number of interior improvements are scheduled to begin inside of the Library, starting on July 31st. The estimated time to completion is two weeks. New carpeting and wall coverings are to be installed during that time and the main Browsing Area will not be available. The Circulation desk will be in operation and reserve materials will generally be available on request.
Newspapers -- The newspaper rack with the current days newspapers will be temporarily located just outside the print station area near the computers. Past issues of newspapers that are currently on the flat shelving will be moved. The more heavily used papers such as the Morning Sun, the Kansas City Star, the New York Times, the Christian Science Monitor, and the Wall Street Journal will be on a shelf near the entrance to the Computer Classroom. Others will be stored in Technical Services and will need to be requested from Reference staff.
New Books - The "New Books" display will be temporarily discontinued and new books will go directly to the Circulating collection.
Book Sale Items - The materials that are for sale will be temporarily removed and be unavailable.
Most location changes will be made the week of July 24th.
